Working with Osage Art Consultancy, we created bespoke hotel artwork for all the guest rooms and hotel suites of the Mandarin Oriental Taipei. This is a luxurious 5-star hotel in the business district and heart of Taipei, Taiwan. The interior is spacious and the design is elegant with luxe styling and carefully thought out details. As part of the design brief, our art would resonate with the interior design and add a touch of nature and colour as well. After our initial discussion about the art direction, we understood the requirements and made our proposal and drafts.
“Bloom” by Alvin Mak, features close up, large-scale photographs of the peony and chrysanthemum flowers. Alvin combines his photography of flowers, leaves and abstract textures with digital art to create fine art prints on canvas. These are customised in size and colour and new artworks were made specifically for this hotel art project. Keeping in line with the nature theme, “By The Tree” series are abstract tree silhouettes on a monotone background. Dana photographs trees and composes by cropping it down until the desired aesthetic and mood is achieved. For this art project, Dana tailored her work to be minimal and bright, adding a fresh colour accent to the interior.
